City of Shakopee, Jackson Township and Louisville Township residents, go green as you reduce, reuse and recycle at the City’s Clean Up Day from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Public Works building, 400 Gorman St. Enter off Fourth Avenue.
The annual event is a chance for residents to discard of old appliances and electronics, yard waste, tires, car batteries, electronics, scrap metal and more. Cost is $20 per vehicle for recyclable items and $25 to $30 per vehicle for non-recyclable refuse. Additional fees may also apply for certain items. Clean Up Day is open solely to residents of the City of Shakopee, Jackson Township and Louisville Township. Resident IDs will be checked. Questions can be directed to the Public Works Department at (952) 233-9550.
During Clean Up Day, Shakopee Rotary will also be collecting unwanted furniture and household items for Bridging, Inc. This is a great opportunity clean out your home of unused items.
Bridging, Inc. serves people in need based on qualified referrals from social service agencies and churches in the seven-county metropolitan area. Donations are tax deductible (thrift market value). Items needed include lightly used furniture, small appliances, kitchenware, linen and games and toys for infants and children.
To donate to Bridging, Inc., drop off items on the north side of the Public Works building between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m. April 26 or contact Rotarian Tim Whitcomb at (952) 445-6170 to schedule an at-home pick-up.
